PM Kisan KYC – Complete Process, Online & Offline
On June 18, 2024, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the release of the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) programme. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, 9.26 million farmers received approximately ₹20,000 crore in account transfers.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan)
The central government’s PM-Kisan program attempts to address farmers’ financial needs for both houses and farms by giving them substantial income support. This support can be invaluable for farmers as it allows them to make investments in their farms, enhance their living standards, and guarantee a consistent flow of income.
Benefits under PM-Kisan are available to farmers who own cultivable land. At first, only farmers with fewer than two hectares of arable land could participate in this program, but it is now available to support farmers and their families regardless of their land ownership.
Farmers who participate in the PM Kisan Yojana would get Rs. 6,000 a year. This sum will be paid in four-monthly, three-quarter installments of Rs. 2000.
PM Kisan Portal
Farmers can register their identities and benefit from the PM Kisan initiative on a single platform at https://pmkisan.gov.in/. Here, farmers must complete their e-KYC verification in addition to registering and checking beneficiary lists, which is an essential requirement for PM-Kisan subsidies.
The PM Kisan Portal supports English, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and other languages. Farmers in numerous states might readily utilize this platform. Farmers will benefit from having up-to-date information on the main page. Users can see their beneficiary status by state and village.
Understanding PM Kisan e-KYC
Farmers can use PM Kisan e-KYC, a secure online process, to validate their identity online and link their Aadhaar card details to their registered bank accounts. Verification lowers the possibility of false claims and ensures that the intended recipients of the financial aid receive it.
Importance of PM Kisan e-KYC
The success of PM Kisan e-KYC is dependent upon the following primary factors:
- Enhanced Transparency: e-KYC authentication lessens the possibility of false claims and money laundering. Only eligible farmers who meet program requirements will receive the rewards.
- Streamlined Disbursement: When beneficiary information is validated using e-KYC, PM-Kisan installment payments are sent more rapidly. This eliminates potential errors and delays, allowing for a quicker and more direct transfer of funds into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
- Precise Data Management: The PM-Kisan program’s e-KYC verification feature helps ensure that beneficiary data is kept up-to-date and accurate. This reduces errors, and the time it takes to receive installments due to conflicting information.
Who Needs to Complete PM Kisan e-KYC?
All registered beneficiaries under the PM-Kisan scheme must complete the e-KYC process. This includes:
- New Applicants: Farmers who have recently registered for the PM-Kisan scheme need to complete e-KYC to activate their benefits.
- Existing Beneficiaries: Even if you’ve been receiving PM-Kisan installments previously, e-KYC verification is mandatory to continue receiving future installments.
Convenient Methods for Completing PM Kisan e-KYC
There are two convenient ways for farmers to complete their PM-Kisan e-KYC verification:
1. Online Method (OTP based e-KYC):
This approach can be used by farmers who are comfortable with online platforms and the internet. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Visit the official PM-Kisan website at https://pmkisan.gov.in/.
- Locate the “Farmers Corner” area of the homepage.
- Click on the “e-KYC” menu option.
- Please provide the 12-digit format for both your Aadhaar card number and the associated phone number.
- You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on the registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the designated space.
- Click “Submit.”
- After you submit the OTP, your e-KYC verification will be completed. The system will display a confirmation message on the screen.
2. Offline Method (biometric based e-KYC):
For farmers who may not have access to the internet or require assistance with the online process, this is the ideal option. Here’s what you need to do:
- Visit the CSC (Common Service Center) nearest to you. Government-approved organizations known as CSCs offer a range of digital services in rural areas. The CSC Locator at https://digitalseva.csc.gov.in/ can help you find the nearest CSC.
- Carry the following documents with you:
- Your Aadhaar card (original and photocopy).
- Account number, IFSC code, and other bank account information associated with your PM-Kisan registration.
- Details of the PM-Kisan registration (acknowledgement slip or other pertinent documentation).
- CSC personnel will assist you with the e-KYC process. They will guide you through the steps and ensure your information is entered correctly.
How to do e-KYC through face authentication?
The farmer can also do the eKYC through their mobile at their own convenience. This is the most innovative and hassle-free way of doing eKYC.
The steps are given below:
- Install the Aadhaar Face RD app and the PM-KISAN mobile app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the application and log in using the mobile phone number that you registered for PM-KISAN.
- Go to the beneficiary status page.
- If the eKYC status is “No,” click on it, enter your Aadhaar number, and allow your face to be scanned.
- eKYC is finished once your face has been successfully scanned.
Note:
- After 24 hours, the beneficiary status will reflect the status of the eKYC completed via any method.
- The farmers can also view their status using Kisan-eMitra (the PM-KISAN AI Chatbot) and the KYS module on the PM-KISAN portal.
Important Reminders Regarding PM Kisan e-KYC
While an official date for PM-Kisan e-KYC in 2024 has not yet been declared, it is strongly recommended that the process needs to be completed as soon as possible. By doing so, farmers can ensure that their PM-Kisan installments are received on time and avoid the possibility of being disqualified from the scheme.
- Timely Receipt of PM-Kisan Installments: To prevent any delays in receiving your installments, complete e-KYC as early as possible.
- Avoid Being Rejected: Incomplete e-KYC submissions could lead to scheme disqualification. By completing e-KYC, you ensure that you will continue receiving the financial assistance the PM-Kisan program provides.
Conclusion
The PM Kisan e-KYC process is essential to ensuring that the right people benefit from the PM-Kisan program. Farmers should use both online and offline methods to complete their e-KYC verification as quickly as feasible. By doing this, they may ensure their continued financial support and contribute to the overall success of the PM-Kisan initiative.
The e-KYC process is an essential part of the government’s initiatives to improve the transparency and use of the PM-Kisan system. In this regard, the government has made significant efforts. In addition to earning benefits, farmers who meet the e-KYC requirements support the program’s efficiency and integrity.
